A powerful feature of the Metastorm BPM system is
the ability to generate templates of forms, form segments, and
reports. Generally we use these to create a particular look and
feel across either systems, or across entire corporations. Unlike
form segments, these forms generated from templates are not updated
should the template change. However they are a very convenient
shorthand way to ensure a consistent form size, colour, and font is
employed whenever possible.
It is perfectly possible to employee a common
directory to store your templates. In this way you can allow a
single person or team to control these templates. Making the
directory read-only for everybody except these users can ensure
consistency.
